FILEHUB ANALYST

Match Excel data without checking every row by hand.

Sometimes your customer file and your master file describe the same account in slightly different ways. A supplier code may be missing, a product name may have changed, or a spreadsheet may be full of variations in punctuation and spacing. FileHub Analyst helps you compare those records and spot the ones that need attention.

Match a spreadsheet

How does spreadsheet matching work?

Upload an Excel workbook and choose the sheet you want to update. Select a reference sheet from the same workbook or upload a second file. Then choose the lookup column, matching column and the information you want brought back into the result.

For instance, you might have sales records containing customer codes and a separate list containing approved account names. FileHub can match the codes and add the corresponding names into a new workbook, while recording where each match came from.

Sales fileMaster listResult
Customer code 10011001: Northside MarketMatched
Customer code 10021002: Central GroceryMatched
Customer code 1003No matching codeUnmatched

Example only. No real customer data is shown.

What happens when names do not match exactly?

FileHub checks exact matches first. It can also suggest possible matches when text appears similar. Those suggestions receive similarity scores, but they are not automatically treated as correct. Two customer names can be almost identical and still refer to different accounts.

You can review the suggestions and approve the right match. If the tool cannot find a reliable candidate, it marks that record as unmatched rather than filling it with a guess. Differences in numeric identifiers are treated cautiously, which matters for SKUs, pack sizes and customer account codes.

What do I get back?

The exported Excel file includes a mapped-data sheet, a separate review list and a summary of matches and missing records. Unapproved suggestions remain blank in the output mapping column, so you can distinguish reviewed work from incomplete work.

Can I use files without column headings?

Yes. Some reference lists begin with real data on the very first row. You can tell FileHub whether the first row contains headings on each selected worksheet. The reference list does not need to look identical to the source list.

Does this replace every Excel formula or data analyst?

Not yet. This first Analyst release focuses on reliable matching and reviewing uncertain results. Larger data models, pivot analysis, charts, multiple-column updates and natural-language questions about sales performance are planned for later improvements. You should still review significant financial or operational decisions against the original records.
